What it runs
Runtime = 1,070 Wh x 0.85 (assumed efficiency) / the appliance's watts. Ranges run from the highest sourced running watts to the lowest. Fridges and freezers cycle on and off, so they use the average draw from ENERGY STAR data.

Solar recharge
At its full rated solar input of 400 W, the 1,070 Wh battery would take at least 2.6 h to fill from empty (1,070 Wh / 400 W). Real panels make less than their rating most of the day, so plan on longer.
The Explorer 1000 v2 is Jackery's current station in the 1,000 Wh class. It has a 1070 Wh LFP battery, 1500 W of rated AC output and a listed surge peak of 3000 W. Jackery does not publish an inverter efficiency, so the runtimes on this page use our 0.85 default, about 910 Wh at the outlets from a full charge.
The 1500 W rating is lower than some rivals of the same size. It covers a fridge, a sump pump at the low end of the published range and many microwaves, but a 1500 W space heater sits right at the limit with nothing left for other loads. The 3000 W surge peak handles most fridge and pump starts in the charts we use.
Solar input is listed at 400 W across two DC8020 ports. Jackery also sells the Explorer 1000 Plus, which is larger and takes add-on batteries. Use the calculator below with your own appliance's label watts for the closest estimate.
Runtime calculator
Runtime (hours) = battery Wh x inverter efficiency / load W
Efficiency is the share of battery energy that reaches the outlet. Where the maker does not publish it we use 0.85. Average W is for loads that cycle on and off, like a fridge; leave it blank to use running watts. Starting surge assumes one motor starts at a time. How the estimates work.
