What it runs

Runtime = 1,152 Wh x 0.85 / the appliance's watts. Ranges run from the highest sourced running watts to the lowest. Fridges and freezers cycle on and off, so they use the average draw from ENERGY STAR data.

Solar recharge

At its full rated solar input of 500 W, the 1,152 Wh battery would take at least 2.3 h to fill from empty (1,152 Wh / 500 W). Real panels make less than their rating most of the day, so plan on longer.

The AC180 is BLUETTI's station in the 1,000 Wh class, with a 1152 Wh LFP battery, 1800 W of rated AC output across 4 outlets and a listed surge of 2700 W. BLUETTI's manual says the inverter's conversion efficiency is above 85%, so the runtimes here use 0.85, which leaves about 979 Wh at the outlets from a full charge.

The surge figure is the one to watch. 2700 W covers the starting draw of many fridges and small pumps, but some generator charts list higher starting figures for a full-size fridge or a 1/2 HP sump pump, so the tables below mark those as "Check" or "No". BLUETTI also uses 2700 W for Power Lifting Mode, which runs heating devices above the rated output at reduced power. It does not help a motor start.

Solar input is listed at 500 W, and wall charging at up to 1440 W in Turbo mode. If the appliance you care about has a label with its watts or amps, put that in the calculator below for a closer estimate than the general figures.

Runtime calculator

Runtime (hours) = battery Wh x inverter efficiency / load W

Efficiency is the share of battery energy that reaches the outlet. Where the maker does not publish it we use 0.85. Average W is for loads that cycle on and off, like a fridge; leave it blank to use running watts. Starting surge assumes one motor starts at a time. How the estimates work.
