Will the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 run a sump pump (1/3 hp to 1/2 hp)?
Check your pump. The C1000 Gen 2 covers the running draw of a 1/3 to 1/2 HP sump pump, but its 3000 W surge is under the highest starting figure in our sources.
Check: 44 min to 1.0 h
At 800 to 1,200 W running. Formula: 1,024 Wh x 0.85 / load W.
The checks
| Check | Station | Sump pump (1/3 HP to 1/2 HP) | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Running watts | 2,000 W rated[1] | 800 to 1,200 W[4][5][6][7][8] | OK |
| Starting surge | 3,000 W[1] | 1,300 to 3,200 W[4][5] | Depends on model |
| Energy | 1,024 Wh[1], about 870 Wh usable | 1,200 W at the high end[4][5][6][7][8] | 44 min to 1.0 h |

Sump pumps are hard on portable stations because of the start. The figures we found put a 1/3 to 1/2 HP pump at 800 to 1200 W running, and 1300 to 3200 W while the motor starts.
Anker rates the C1000 Gen 2 at 2000 W continuous, which covers the running draw, and 3000 W surge. That is above the 1300 W starting figure for a 1/3 HP pump in Champion's chart, but below the 3200 W total for a 1/2 HP pump in Generac's chart. So it depends on your pump. A 1/3 HP pump fits by these figures; a 1/2 HP pump may trip the station when it kicks on.
If it does start, runtime is short. Running nonstop, the 1024 Wh battery lasts about 43 minutes to an hour. Real pumps cycle with the water level, so in most storms it lasts longer. The storm scenario page shows the runtime at several duty cycles.
Check the label on your pump for its horsepower and amps, and try the numbers in the calculator.

Questions
Will the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 start a 1/2 HP sump pump?
Maybe not. Generac's chart works out to 3200 W starting for a 1/2 HP pump, above the 3000 W surge Anker lists. A 1/3 HP pump at 1300 W starting fits.
How long will the C1000 Gen 2 run a sump pump?
About 43 minutes to an hour running nonstop. A pump that runs part of each hour lasts longer.
Runtime calculator
Runtime (hours) = battery Wh x inverter efficiency / load W
Efficiency is the share of battery energy that reaches the outlet. Where the maker does not publish it we use 0.85. Average W is for loads that cycle on and off, like a fridge; leave it blank to use running watts. Starting surge assumes one motor starts at a time. How the estimates work.
